30-Day Visa-Free Travel In China
38 countries do enable visa-free travel to China for citizens holding ordinary passports. Citizens from these countries are generally allowed to travel to China without a visa for up to 30 days for the purposes of tourism, travel, business, and visiting family or friends. They will still need to apply for a corresponding visa to China if they intend to work, study, or settle in China, or intend to stay for longer than 30 days. The 38 countries are listed below:

240-Hour Visa-Free Transit In China
Instead, 54 countries are eligible for 240-hour visa-free transit policy in China. The requirements for satisfying such policy are listed as follows:

List of Ports: Individuals from 54 eligible countries can enter visa-free through any of the 60 open ports (including Wuhan Tianhe International Airport) in 24 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), and stay within the allowed areas for visa-free transit travelers for no more than 240 hours.
Travel Document Requirement: The applicant must hold a valid international travel document (with a validity of at least three months) and meet the requirements for entering a third country (region).
Interline Passenger Tickets: The applicant must hold interline passenger tickets or other documents with a specified date and seat to a third country (region) within 240 hours, complete the Arrival Card for Temporary Entry Foreigners, and cooperate with checks and inquiries by exit-entry border inspection authorities.
