Call for Contributions, Invited Sessions, Discussion Contributions
On behalf of the National Organizing Committee and the IPC ROCOND 2025 we are delighted to welcome you to the Joint IFAC Meeting: 11th IFAC Symposium on Robust Control Design (ROCOND 2025), 6th IFAC Workshop on Linear Parameter varying Systems (LPVS 2025). The event will take place in the capital of the Port Wine, Portugal, from the 2nd to the 4th of July 2025.
Please submit:
- Regular Papers are selected on the originality, technical soundness, quality of written exposition and relevance to ROCOND’25 topics. Initial submissions should be a minimum of 4 pages and a maximum of 8 pages. However, final manuscripts must adhere to a strict 6-page limit to be included in the IFAC-PapersOnLine proceedings.
- Open Track Sessions present a unifying theme from a diversity of viewpoints. This might be either theoretical — Invited Sessions or applications-oriented — Technical Sessions. Proposals must describe the motivation and relevance of the session. Initial submissions should be a minimum of 4 pages and a maximum of 8 pages. However, final manuscripts must adhere to a strict 6-page limit to be included in the IFAC-PapersOnLine proceedings. Their presentation may be either in the form of oral sessions or interactive sessions.
- Discussion Contributions aim to bring forward specific topics within the scope of ROCOND’25, especially for participants from the industry, as well as government and education sectors. It may also be an opportunity to discuss ongoing research. Submissions are in the form of an extended abstract of at most 4 pages. These contributions have a late submission deadline and will go under a fast review process based on the relevance to the audience at ROCOND’25, and their presentation may be either in the form of oral sessions or interactive sessions. Extended abstracts will NOT be included in the IFAC-PapersOnLine proceedings but only in the preprints. This type of submission encompasses:
– Papers on success stories, or best practices
– Problem-solving sessions
– Industry technical papers
– Research projects discussion - Tutorial Sessions address state-of-the-art control theory and advanced industrial applications topics. These are submitted in the form of an extended abstract of at most 4 pages. It is mandatory to indicate the theme, the number of talks and respective speakers as well as the total session duration.
- Panel Discussions deal with specialists different point of views on state-of-the-art control theory and advanced industry applications. These are submitted in the form of an extended abstract of at most 4 pages. When accepted, the extended abstract will NOT be included in the IFAC-PapersOnLine proceedings, but only in the preprints.

Young Author Awards
To encourage the participation of young scientists and engineers in IFAC, and recognise outstanding contributions from the next generation in the field, the IFAC Young Author Award will be presented at ROCOND’25. This award is given for the best paper at ROCOND’25 where the first and presenting author is the main contributor to the research and holds Student status at the time of paper submission.
Nominations are invited after the final paper submission deadline. Colleagues of the young author (no self-nominations) are responsible for submitting nominations through the IFAC Submission Management System. The IFAC Young Author Award Selection Committee will compile a shortlist of finalists based on the collected reviews and their own evaluation of the papers. The winner will be selected based on both the written paper and the oral presentation delivered by the nominee.
Copyright Conditions
All publication material submitted for presentation at an IFAC-sponsored meeting (Congress, Symposium, Conference, Workshop) must be original and hence cannot be already published, nor can it be under review elsewhere. The authors take responsibility for the material that has been submitted. IFAC-sponsored conferences will abide by the highest standard of ethical behavior in the review process as explained on the Elsevier webpage (https://www.elsevier.com/authors/journal-authors/policies-and-ethics), and the authors will abide by the IFAC publication ethics guidelines (https://www.ifac-control.org/events/organizers-guide/PublicationEthicsGuidelines.pdf/view).Accepted papers that have been presented at an IFAC meeting will be published in the proceedings of the event using the open-access IFAC-PapersOnLine series hosted on ScienceDirect (https://sciencedirect.com/). To this end, the author(s) must grant exclusive publishing rights to IFAC under a Creative Commons license when they submit the final version of the paper. The copyright belongs to the authors, who have the right to share the paper in the same terms allowed by the end user license, and retain all patent, trademark and other intellectual property rights (including research data).
