Program Overview

The conference general program will run for four days from June 29th to July 2nd, 2027, with in-person presentations of papers and discussions. The full program will be available through the following link a few weeks before the conference.

Keynote Speakers

The six keynote speakers of SAFEPROCESS 2027 will bring a diverse, inclusive lineup whose talks span both recurring themes and topics central to the SAFEPROCESS community.

Mattias Krysander is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Linköping University, Sweden. His research focuses on diagnosis, prognosis, automotive systems, and modeling. He is a recognized expert in fault detection and system reliability, contributing to advancements in vehicular and industrial applications, co-developer of the Fault Diagnosis Toolbox, which is widely adopted by the diagnosis community.

Marina Zanella is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Brescia, Italy. Her research revolves around model-based reasoning for monitoring and diagnosis of static and discrete-event systems, including diagnosability analysis, reasoning under uncertainty, and knowledge compilation, with
two influential books on model-based diagnosis of discrete-event systems.

Matthieu Barreau is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Decision and Control Systems at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. His research lies at the intersection of machine learning and control theory with industrial applications, leveraging physics-informed machine learning, Lyapunov theory, and partial differential equations, with novel contributions in this area.

Olga Fink is a Professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). She is also a Research Affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She conducts impactful research on hybrid algorithms that combine physics-based models with deep learning, and multi-agent systems for intelligent maintenance and operations of complex
infrastructure and industrial assets.

Martina Maggio is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Saarland University, and holds a partial affiliation in the Department of Automatic Control at Lund University in Sweden. Her research specializes at the intersection between control and computer science, in particular in guaranteeing fault-tolerance and safety during the execution of cyber-physical
systems.

Demetrios Eliades is a Research Assistant Professor at the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence, University of Cyprus. His research focuses on Smart Water Networks, Cyber-Physical Systems Security and Resilience, Computational Intelligence, and Research Toolkits, in particular through several coordinated industrial projects.
