Tutorial proposals are also encouraged. Initial submissions are at least 4 pages long and&nbsp;at&nbsp;most 8 pages long, with a strict 6 pages limit for final manuscripts to be included in the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/journal\/ifac-papersonline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IFAC-PapersOnLine proceedings<\/a>.&nbsp;The accepted papers will be presented&nbsp;in oral sessions during the conference&nbsp;either&nbsp;as 20-minute oral presentations or&nbsp;in poster sessions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong><strong>Invited Session Proposals&nbsp;<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">Invited sessions aim to present new research results&nbsp;within the scope of SAFEPROCESS&nbsp;2027,&nbsp;bringing together experts in the field to elaborate on various aspects and challenges of&nbsp;specific, timely&nbsp;topics.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">The proposals for&nbsp;invited sessions&nbsp;should include: 1)&nbsp;a&nbsp;title, 2) the name and affiliation of&nbsp;the&nbsp;organizer(s), 3)&nbsp;a summary describing the motivation and relevance of the proposed session&nbsp;to SAFEPROCESS&nbsp;2027, 4) a list of&nbsp;at least 4 contributed papers, including a&nbsp;tentative title and abstract.&nbsp;Upon submission of the&nbsp;invited session&nbsp;proposal,&nbsp;the session organizer will receive a session code, which should be communicated to the authors of the invited papers for the submission of their contributions.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong><strong><strong>Panel Discussion Proposals&nbsp;<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">Panel discussions&nbsp;are&nbsp;designated&nbsp;for bringing forward specific topics within the scope of SAFEPROCESS, especially for participants from the industry, as well as government and education sectors.&nbsp;They&nbsp;may also be an opportunity to discuss ongoing research.&nbsp;Panel discussions should be interactive and aim to reveal&nbsp;open issues, adoption challenges, societal impact, multi-disciplinary aspects, business models&nbsp;among others&nbsp;in the context of SAFEPROCESS&nbsp;2027.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">The proposals for panel discussions should include: 1)&nbsp;a&nbsp;title, 2) the name and affiliation of&nbsp;the&nbsp;organizer(s), 3)&nbsp;a short&nbsp;description of&nbsp;the discussion topic(s) highlighting the&nbsp;relevance to&nbsp; SAFEPROCESS&nbsp;2027&nbsp;and possibly to&nbsp;the theme&nbsp; \u201cAI for Safety\u201d&nbsp;as well as to&nbsp;the expected audience, 4) a list of&nbsp;at least 2&nbsp;panelists, including a short bio, a webpage link (optional), 5)&nbsp;the&nbsp;estimated duration, 6)&nbsp;the&nbsp;structure of the panel discussion, emphasizing the way to stimulate interaction&nbsp;via curated Q&amp;A possibly with software tools for audience engagement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">Panel discussion&nbsp;contributions&nbsp;will NOT be included in the IFAC-PapersOnLine proceedings,&nbsp;but it will appear in the&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:https:\/\/ifac.floq.live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IFAC&nbsp;app<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong><strong><strong>Abstracts&nbsp;of&nbsp;Dissemination&nbsp;Paper<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">This category&nbsp;provides&nbsp;opportunities to authors whose papers have been recently accepted by\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifac-control.org\/publications\/journals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IFAC Journals<\/a>\u202fto showcase their results to a broader audience at an IFAC Conference.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Submissions shall provide&nbsp;an extended abstract of the journal&nbsp;paper,&nbsp;including: 1) the IFAC journal title, and url to the published paper, 2) an abstract&nbsp;of&nbsp;maximum&nbsp;1 page&nbsp;of the research work,&nbsp;including the main contributions and results&nbsp;as well as&nbsp;a description about the relevance to SAFEPROCESS 2027. If the journal paper is accepted but not published online by the deadline 28\/02\/2027, a copy of the journal acceptance letter should be included&nbsp;with&nbsp;the abstract.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">Dissemination&nbsp;Papers&nbsp;will&nbsp;be&nbsp;presented&nbsp;in oral sessions. The titles and abstracts will be included in the preprints, but they will NOT be included in the IFAC-PapersOnLine proceedings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong><strong><strong>Tutorial Proposals&nbsp;<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">Tutorials aim to present&nbsp;a consolidated research work\/method\/approach\/tool&nbsp;related to the topics of&nbsp;SAFEPROCESS 2027 in a pedagogical style&nbsp;to enhance the&nbsp;knowledge and skills&nbsp;of the participants.&nbsp;Simulation tools are encouraged to be utilized and\/or other pedagogical methods (e.g.&nbsp;hands on,&nbsp;peer groups). Relevant material (e.g.&nbsp;tutorial&nbsp;slides, papers, software)&nbsp;is&nbsp;strongly proposed to be&nbsp;offered to participants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proposals for&nbsp;tutorials&nbsp;should include: 1)&nbsp;a&nbsp;title, 2) the name and affiliation of&nbsp;the&nbsp;organizer(s), 3)&nbsp;a description of the tutorial topic and a list of the learning objectives, highlighting the relevance to&nbsp; SAFEPROCESS&nbsp;2027&nbsp;and possibly to&nbsp;the theme&nbsp; \u201cAI for Safety\u201d&nbsp;as well as to&nbsp;the expected audience, 4) a list of&nbsp;speakers\/teachers, including a short bio, a webpage link (optional), 5)&nbsp;the&nbsp;estimated duration, 6)&nbsp;a&nbsp;structure of the&nbsp;tutorial&nbsp;emphasizing the way to&nbsp;engage the participants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">Tutorials will NOT be included in the IFAC-PapersOnLine proceedings,&nbsp;but it will appear in the&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:https:\/\/ifac.floq.live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IFAC app<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" id=\"award-nomination\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-ast-global-color-8-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-ast-global-color-8-background-color has-background is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:30px\"><strong>Award Nomination<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">Three types of awards will be given in the IFAC SAFEPROCESS 2027.&nbsp;For every award, there will be a&nbsp;Selection&nbsp;Committees&nbsp;that&nbsp;will&nbsp;determine a short list of finalists, based on the gathered review&nbsp;reports,&nbsp;and&nbsp;the papers.&nbsp;Only in the case of the young author award, the assigned committee considers also the nomination&nbsp;forms (see below).&nbsp;After having&nbsp;attended&nbsp;the oral presentation given by the nominees,&nbsp;the committee selects the&nbsp;winner.&nbsp;Every&nbsp;award consists of a certificate and a prize of \u20ac1000.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong><strong><strong>IFAC Young Author Award&nbsp;<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">To encourage the involvement of young scientists and engineers in IFAC, as well as to recognize top-level contributions of the younger generation in the field, the IFAC Young Author Award will be presented at SAFEPROCESS 2027.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">This award is given to the best paper of which the first and presenting author is the main contributor of the research results, and where the&nbsp;candidate&nbsp;s under&nbsp;30 years old&nbsp;at the time of&nbsp;SAFEPROCESS 2027.&nbsp;Nominations&nbsp;&nbsp;are solicited after&nbsp;the notifications of acceptance\/rejection have been issued&nbsp;and&nbsp;are made by colleagues of the author(s)&nbsp;(no self-nominations). Nominations are done using the\u202f<a href=\"http:\/\/ifac.papercept.net\/conferences\/scripts\/start.pl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IFAC Submission Management System<\/a>&nbsp;using the Young Author Nomination Form II&nbsp;available in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifac-control.org\/conferences\/ifac-young-author-event-award-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.ifac-control.org\/conferences\/ifac-young-author-event-award-1\/<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong><strong><strong>Paul M. Frank Best Theory Paper Award&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">The University of Duisburg-Essen has established this award in memory of Professor Paul M. Frank, who was one of the pioneers and great contributors to the field of fault diagnosis.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:14px\">The Paul M. Frank Best Theory Paper Award will be given at SAFEPROCESS 2027 to honor the best theoretical paper presented at the conference. The oral presentation of the paper is a criterion for the award attribution.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-ast-global-color-8-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong><strong><strong>Best Application Paper Award&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To recognize outstanding contributions in the practical application of fault detection, supervision, and safety systems, the Best Application Paper Award will be presented at SAFEPROCESS 2027.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This award is given to the best paper that demonstrates a practical application of fault diagnosis in real-world environments.
