Instructions for Authors
Please make sure that all your submissions to CAMS 2027, including both initial and final submissions, are written in English and comply with the IFAC submission formatting requirements. Per IFAC publication requirement, the page size of all submissions needs to be A4 (not US letter size).
Authors are invited to submit their contributions through the IFAC Submission Management System.

Contribution categories
Regular Contributions
A regular contributed paper is intended to be a self-contained, full description of completed work (i.e., not an extended abstract). All regular contributions will be peer reviewed. Regular contributions will be selected on the originality, technical soundness, quality of written exposition and relevance to IFAC-CAMS topics. Regular contributions that are accepted for inclusion in the conference proceedings will be assigned to different conference sessions based on their topics, and disseminated to the broader community through the open-access forum IFAC PapersOnline.

Invited Contributions
Invited contributions refer to papers to be part of invited sessions (see below), where the contributors are invited by the session organizers. Similar to regular contributions, an invited contribution paper is intended to be a self-contained, full description of completed work and is subject to same page-length restrictions. Both contributed and invited papers will go through the same peer review process. If an invited paper is accepted for inclusion in the conference proceedings and the associated invited session proposal is also accepted, the paper will automatically be assigned to the corresponding invited session.
Invited session proposals
An invited session proposal is a brief document that presents a unified theme bringing together up to 6 invited papers into a cohesive session. The proposal should list the proposed invited papers (titles and abstracts at a minimum), and explain how they come together to form a cohesive topic of interest to the community. All invited session proposals will be reviewed.
Upon submission of an invited session proposal, a session code will be generated by PaperCept. Authors must use this session code to link their invited papers to the corresponding invited session proposal.
If an invited session proposal is accepted, then all of the corresponding invited papers that receive an acceptance decision will be assigned to the accepted invited session.
If fewer than 6 papers submitted under the invited session code are accepted, additional papers may be assigned to the invited session if they are relevant to the session’s topic.
If an invited session proposal is rejected, then any accepted invited papers linked to the invited session proposal will be assigned to other sessions.
Young Author Awards
In order to stimulate the involvement of young scientists and engineers in IFAC, as well as to recognize top-level contributions of the younger generation in the field, an IFAC Young Author Award is presented at CAMS 2027. This is awarded for the best CAMS 2027 paper of which the first and presenting author is the main contributor of the research results in the paper, and where the candidate is less than 30 years old at the time of the event (motivated exemptions on the age criterion to deal with gender and cultural differences so as to allow for a fair competition are allowed).
Nominations are solicited after the final submission of papers is closed. Nominations are made by colleagues of the young author (no self-nominations). Nominations are done using the IFAC Submission Management System. The IFAC Young Author Award Selection Committee shall determine a short list of finalists, based on the gathered reviews and on their own reading of the paper. Based on both the written paper and the oral presentation given by the nominee, a winner is selected.
Developing Countries Young Author Support
Program for Support of Developing Countries Young Authors’ Attendance at IFAC Congresses and Conferences
The IFAC Foundation is open to consider applications for support of young authors’ attendance at the IFAC CAMS 2027 Conference. The support consists of waiving the registration fees.
Eligibility criteria:
- Applicant must be an author of an accepted technical paper.
- Applicant must be a citizen of a developing country/region, and not affiliated to or supported by an institution in a high-income country/region.
- Applicant’s age must be less than 30 years during the conference.
A developing country/region is understood to be one which is not on the list of high-income economies (as of 2026, high-income economies have a GNI per capita of $13,935 or more).
A presentation of the paper at the conference by the winners is a requisite for support.
Award recipients must write a short report (a few lines) about their work, paper title, and stating what the attendance meant to them, and what they learnt. The recipients give their consent that the report together with their picture and a brief bio will be uploaded on the Foundation website.

Use of AI Tools
Authors and reviewers participating in IFAC CAMS 2027 must adhere to the official IFAC Statement on the Use of AI Tools.
Copyright Conditions
All publication material submitted for presentation at an IFAC-sponsored meeting (Congress, Symposium, Conference, Workshop) must be original and hence cannot be already published, nor can it be under review elsewhere. The authors take responsibility for the material that has been submitted. IFAC-sponsored conferences will abide by the highest standard of ethical behavior in the review process as explained on the Elsevier webpage (https://www.elsevier.com/authors/journal-authors/policies-and-ethics), and the authors will abide by the IFAC publication ethics guidelines (https://www.ifac-control.org/events/organizers-guide/PublicationEthicsGuidelines.pdf/view).
Accepted papers that have been presented at an IFAC meeting will be published in the proceedings of the event using the open-access IFAC-PapersOnLine series hosted on ScienceDirect (https://sciencedirect.com/). To this end, the author(s) must grant exclusive publishing rights to IFAC under a Creative Commons license when they submit the final version of the paper. The copyright belongs to the authors, who have the right to share the paper in the same terms allowed by the end user license, and retain all patent, trademark and other intellectual property rights (including research data).
