Participants who prefer to stay in the city centre can choose from a range of hotels in and around Šibenik’s historic Old Town. Please note that the conference venue is located at Amadria Park, outside the city centre, so participants staying in Šibenik should plan for daily transportation to and from the venue.

A boutique heritage hotel on Šibenik’s waterfront, directly connected to the Old Town and approximately 100–300 metres from the Cathedral of St. James. A good option for participants looking for a smaller, characterful hotel in the historic centre.

A modern waterfront hotel immediately adjacent to Šibenik’s historic centre. Its location near the waterfront and main transport connections makes it a particularly practical city option for conference participants.

Heritage Hotel Life Palace

Located in a restored 15th-century palace in the pedestrian area of the Old Town. The hotel has just 17 rooms and suites, making it a more intimate alternative to the larger conference hotels.

TRAVELING BY PLANE VIA ZADAR AIRPORT

Taxi – taxis are available in front of the airport. UBER ride is around 100 EUR.

Bus – the bus ticket price from the airport to the Zadar main station is 5 EUR one way and the bus departure time is dictated by plane arrivals. After you reach the central bus station in Zadar, please find the bus that goes to Šibenik. The ticket price is around 12 EUR and you can find the timetable here.

TRAVELING BY PLANE VIA SPLIT AIRPORT

Bus – the bus ticket price from the airport to the Split main station is 9 EUR one way and the bus departure time is dictated by plane arrivals (more info here). Visa Information

A valid passport/ID card is required to enter Croatia.

Visas are not necessary for citizens of the EU, the USA, Canada and many other countries. Visa requirements are given here.

As a participant with paid registration, an official letter-of-confirmation that confirms that you will attend IFAC CAMS 2027 will be sent to those that need it to obtain the Croatian visa. This letter does not guarantee that you will receive a visa. It is recommended that you start this process as soon as possible!

Discover Šibenik

Šibenik is a historic Mediterranean city where centuries of heritage meet the Adriatic way of life. Wander through the narrow stone streets of the Old Town, explore its impressive fortresses and enjoy the lively waterfront, local cuisine, and views across the Šibenik archipelago.
The city is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the magnificent Cathedral of St. James, built entirely of stone, and St. Nicholas’ Fortress, an outstanding example of Venetian maritime defence situated at the entrance to St. Anthony’s Channel.

Explore Croatia’s Natural Wonders

Šibenik is ideally positioned for discovering some of Croatia’s most remarkable natural landscapes. Krka National Park, famous for the Krka River, waterfalls and Mediterranean scenery, is within easy reach of the city and makes an excellent half-day or full-day excursion.

A little further offshore lies Kornati National Park, an extraordinary archipelago of 89 islands, islets and reefs spread across 220 km². Its dramatic landscapes and clear Adriatic waters make the Kornati a particularly memorable destination for sailing, swimming and exploring the Croatian coast.

Experience the Adriatic

Make your visit to CAMS 2027 an opportunity to experience the Croatian Adriatic beyond the conference programme. The Šibenik coastline is surrounded by islands, secluded bays and traditional coastal settlements, while nearby Zlarin, Krapanj, Prvić, Kaprije and Žirje offer an easy introduction to island life.

Enjoy a boat trip through St. Anthony’s Channel, discover local food and wines, swim in the Adriatic or simply spend an evening walking along Šibenik’s waterfront. For those staying longer, Šibenik is also an excellent base for exploring the wider Dalmatian coast and hinterland.
