IFAC HMS 2025 Young Author Prize

The Young Author Prize recognizes the best paper presented at the IFAC HMS 2025 by an author under the age of 30 as of November 18, 2025. The award is open to the first author of the paper, who must also present the results at the Symposium. The prize includes a monetary award of 500 EUR and a certificate, which will be presented during the closing ceremony of the Symposium.

Nominations:

Nominations for the prize may be submitted by the author’s supervisor or colleagues (self-nominations are not allowed). Nominations must be made using the Young Author Prize nomination form and submitted through the IFAC PaperPlaza conference manuscript management system. The nomination form should include a clear statement confirming that the nominee is under 30 years of age as of November 18, 2025.

Selection Process:

The IFAC HMS 2025 Young Author Prize Selection Committee will review the submissions, considering the paper reviews and their own assessment of the work. A shortlist of finalists will be created, and authors will be notified accordingly. The winner will be determined during the Symposium based on both the quality of the written paper and the oral presentation delivered by the nominee.

The IFAC Young Author Prize deadline for application is November 3rd, 2025.

The final list of nominees for the IFAC HMS 2025 Young Author Prize is available in TuSeA-Session-A1: Young Author Prize Evaluation Session.

IFAC HMS 2025 Young Author Prize (Updated on November 19, 2025)

After careful consideration and due to a higher-than-expected number of exceptionally strong submissions this year, the NOC has decided to recognize outstanding contributions more broadly. The IFAC HMS 2025 Young Author Prize will therefore be conferred to three equally ranked papers selected by the Award Committee. The total prize of 500 EUR will be equally shared among the three winning papers (approximately 166.67 EUR per paper). Each winning paper will also receive an official certificate. The awards will be presented to all winning authors (or their representatives) during the closing ceremony of the Symposium.
